2022 China Hardware Products International Design Competition
I. INTRODUCTION
China Hardware Product International Design Competition has been held for 16 years since its foundation in 2006. As an international design competition, it attracts participation of designers from dozens of colleges and universities, design companies as well as independent designers from more than 30 countries and regions. In order to build YongKang into the International Hardware Capital and “the advanced manufacturing base in China and the world”, the 17th China Hardware Product International Design Competition formally opens.
THE TOTAL BONUS for 2022 is ¥ 750,000 (RMB)

– Innovative application scenarios and concepts, expanding richer and diversified usage scenarios, and corresponding functions and appearance;
– Structural design for convenient disassembly, warehousing and transportation with structural stability, as well as modular/systematic product innovation design;
– Innovative product appearance and design.

Design Requirements: A mode of transportation that meets people’s daily travel, work, entertainment, and short-distance travel. Meet the role of entertainment and leisure. Specific requirements include:
– Novel appearance design, in line with the aesthetic requirements of young people;
– Ergonomic design, such as grip comfort, ride comfort, better shock absorption, etc.;
– Intelligent design, such as heart rate detection, intelligent adjustment, etc., and connect with products through APP;

V. AWARDS
In each of four categories, there is one golden prize, two silver prizes, three bronze prizes, and five excellent prizes as well as several Entry prizes and Excellent organization awards set. The 17th Competition set up the Golden Dot Award to reward design works with outstanding industrialization prospects, market potential. The winner will be selected from four categories, with the awarded bonus of RMB 200,000 yuan.

VI. ENTRY RULES
- A contestant can deliver multiple entries to each categories of competition at the same time.
- Entries must be original works of the participant (not to infringe other people’s intellectual property rights or any other rights), and created specifically for this competition.
- Format of the entry: JPG file, A2 (420mm*594mm), 300dpi, VERTICAL VERSION, NO MORE THAN 5M. ONE ENTRY IS LIMITED TO ONE LAYOUT.
- The entry layout is composed by the following contents: more than two main views of the product, design instruction, title of the entry (there should be NO name of participants in the entry layout).

VII. JUDGING CRITERIA
- Innovation (30%): The work should be innovative in design concept, function, material technology, etc., reflecting design aesthetics. Further, the work should be forward-looking and able to grasp the future trend of the product.
- Feasibility (20%): The work should be able to be produced under modern manufacturing technology, reflecting the concept of modular design and customized design. Further, it can optimize the manufacturing process, reduce the cost of the enterprise, and improve the economic benefit of the enterprise.
- Marketing and Industrial Value (30%): The work should be practical and meet market demands. Further, it has the potential to become a best-selling product in the market, has a demonstration role for industrial development, and realizes value co-creation.
- Completeness (20%): The work should fully and completely express the design concept and characteristics. Further, the works are not limited to the design of a single product, but propose the thinking of customized innovation with the concept of serialization or systemization.
VIII. SCHEDULE
- Call for Entries: April 18th, 2022
- The Submission Deadline : October 10th, 2022 (before 24:00 Beijing time)
- Shortlist Announced: Late October, 2022
- Final Judge: Mid November, 2022
- Award Ceremony: Time and place will be notified separately
